To my delight I was lucky enough to purchase a pair of Red Headed Parrot Finches recently. What beautiful birds and a real kick to watch. They are very active flitting about the aviary but do not seem to be too flighty, and they are very peaceful toward the other species in the aviary. My sister named them Kris Kringle and Holly Berry for their bright Christmas colors, perfect names! I am now holding my breath waiting to see if there will be any breeding activity this fall. The cock has been busily building a grass nest inside a large wicker nest and the hen has sat in it a few times. Great news, the hen is now sitting tight so there must be eggs in the nest!
