WYOMING BUTTERFLIES

This page is dedicated to my grandchildren who share my joy of these beautiful flying wonders

All of these butterflies are native to Wyoming. Most of the photos were taken in the Big Horn Mountains. I have given what I hope are the correct names to them but please correct me if you see any gross error as a butterfly expert I am not! But I do enjoy watching them and catching a few for study and releasing them soon after. We have raised a few butterflies and moths which really helps in understanding the complex growth stages. Taking your grandchildren, a butterfly guide book, and some butterfly nets outside on a warm day is a great combination for fun and learning!
